In November we road through the backroads of Eastern San Diego County to get to Coronado where we stopped for lunch at the golf course. The ride was 220 miles total. Much of it was on twisty canyon roads with everything from 60 mph sweepers to 15 mph hair pin turns on a steep incline. What a ton of fun! We had our stop at a park in Escondido for a potty break and then a gas stop at Barona Casino. Then it was another 80 miles of twisties on the way to Coronado. Many of us had never been on some of these roads, but thanks to Don and his detailed planning, we got to see some stuff we'd never seen before. We had lunch at the public golf course on the bay. The food was good, a little pricey, but the view was fantastic. After lunch we headed over the Coronado bridge and hit the freeways the rest of the way home with one more gas stop on the way.
